In 2015 was het vijftig jaar geleden dat de minister aankondigde de kolenwinning te stoppen. In Limburg hebben de mijnen een ontzettend grote invloed gehad op de leefstijl van allerlei families. In dit jaar schreven we met de band Nbraska een nummer dat hierover gaat, Darkness.

In deze tijd werd ik gevraagd om deel te nemen aan een project; Mijn Carboon. Het moest een plaat worden met interpretaties van verschillende Limburgse artiesten van allerlei nummers van de bekende band Carboon. Carboon staat bekend om hun Limburgstalige nummers over kolenmijnthema's. Ik koos ervoor om het nummer 'Beambtezjweet' te coveren.
